The Easter bunny was spotted hopping down Clough Lea on his way to surprise children at the Marsden Infants reception Easter disco. After having a boogie with the children he gave them all a large chocolate egg before hopping away back to his secret hideaway.
A most enjoyable evening was spent at St. Pauls Concert Hall, Huddersfield where Hade Edge Brass Band presented the music and story from Brassed Off, narrated by Jon Hammond.
We were pleased to sponsor and attend this amazing performance. The talent of the percussion can be seen in the video attached of the William Tell Overture.
Sunday the 31st of March saw our sponsored team Golcar Under 9’s played the semi final of the Kirklees and Calderdale cup against Warley Road. After a very tense hour of playing, the boys lost out on a last minute goal from Warley Road resulting in the score being 6-5.
We are very proud of all the boys for getting so far in the competition. All eyes are now on the league trophy and we wish them the best of luck as they edge towards the end of the season.
We were pleased to support and sponsor Verdi’s Requiem given by the Holmfirth Choral Society. Soloists taking part were Sarah Ogden, Emily Reaves-Bradley, Paul Milosavljevic and Thom Meredith, supported by the valley symphonia conducted by Geoffrey Lockwood. The Kirklees Mayor was in attendance.
This was a rousing performance which raised the roof of the Holmfirth Civic Hall.
We were pleased to support the production of the Greatest Show which took place on Saturday 23rd March at Huddersfield Town Hall.
The show included performances from Honley Ladies Choir, Huddersfield Choral Youth Choirs, Honley Girls Choir and the fabulous flautist Simeon Wood.
This was a great performance showing off the local talent of Huddersfield.
